Early Rising

This morning I woke up early to head to the gym (since I rarely go anymore) and it was gorgeous out. Even though it was freezing the sun was just rising and it was so bright and pretty.

After looking for food ideas yesterday on Pinterest, I stumbled upon a morning smoothie. After my workout I decided to pop into metro and grab all the ingredients for it. It is surprisingly delicious and I am definitely going I be making it more often!
P.S. sorry for the ugly pictures I took them with my cellphone :)

Ingredients:
2 whole bananas (preferably frozen)
1/2 c cooked oats
1/3 c yogurt (preferably Greek)
1/3 c almonds
1/2 c soy milk
Ice

Quinoa Brownies

These are absolutely amazing! If you are looking for a healthier and lighter choice rather than scarfing down a sweet brownie you have to try these. These brownies stay very moist and are the perfect choice when craving sweets.
Bring your water to a boil then turn heat down to low and allow quinoa to cook for 20 minutes.
Take all your dry and wet ingredients mixing them in a food processor until smooth. If you don't have a food processor a blender works fine (thats what I used)
Once your quinoa has been made allow it to cool before adding it to the blended mix.
For an added touch to the final product you can add anything on top. I added some melted chocolate. Icing sugar would work great as well.

Ingredients
1/2 C quinoa
3/4 C light brown sugar
1/2 C cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 C milk
2 tbsp canola oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes

Cyber Monday

Yes I am obsessed with food and everything about it, but my other greatest weakness is online shopping! I have been going on a binge of buying something online at least every other week for the past few months and it is really putting a dent in my bank account. Now that Cyber Monday is coming up tomorrow, how am I supposed to resist! I already have a few things lined up in my online bags ready to be purchased tomorrow! I hope there are some crazy deals and I can get some of my Christmas shopping out of the way too!

If any of you have yet to hear of tobi.. go to this link https://www.tobi.com/i/NTc0MDgx%0A
you can get 50% off your first order by liking them on facebook and their clothes are so cheap its amazing!

Happy Shopping Everyone!

Granola Bars

I made these once in the summer when I was craving some sort of granola for breakfast, and now, every time I come home my Dad asks me to make it again. These bars are great for a snack, breakfast or even to crumble overtop of yogurt! They are very moist and tend to crumble apart if they are cut while still warm so make sure to wait until they are completely cooled.

Ingredients:
2 C Rolled Oats
1 C Unsalted Peanuts
1/2 C shredded coconut
1/2 C rainsins (optional - I didn't put in mine)
1/4 C Sunflower Seeds
1/4 C Pumpkin Seeds
1 C Peanut Butter
1 C Brown Sugar
1/3 C Butter
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp salt
1 Large Egg

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. Toss all dry goods together in a bowl. In a pot over medium-low heat, stir peanut butter, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, spices and salt until melted.
3. Pour melted mixture over dry goods and stir until blended. Stir in egg and spread granola into pan. Bake for 30 minutes, then cool for 20 minutes.

So today we spent a few hours pampering ourselves. We had a delicious lunch at artisanos and went to get shellac done. It was her first time and now she's hooked !

Black Friday

I went home this weekend (taking a break from school mayhem) to go to Black Friday! My fam loves to go all out. We leave at 3am and shop until noon and head back! Here are a few pictures from our adventurous day of crowded stores and spending more money than I have!
I stayed up making shortbread cookies! No sleep for me!
Lettuce wraps in the back seat of the car
Oversized Aviators! So needed, but can't have :(
Mom was on the news talking about why we come to Buffalo and what deals we've gotten so far!

Sunday's dinner date

My roommate and I spent no money at the bar on Saturday and as a result, decided to treat ourself to a little sushi date with the money we saved! I have never been so full and so satisfied with a meal... it was delicious!
We ordered 1 roll each called the spicy vegetable roll(second picture) and split the dynamite roll(first picture). However, the vegetable roll came with soup, salad and some random ball (we think it was deep fried tofu). Meaning, by the time we got halfway through our first rolls we were so stuffed we couldn't move!
If you are ever in Guelph, you must go to Sushi Choice (downtown)! It is such a small restaurant but they serve the most delicious sushi!

Birthday Celebrations

Today is my roommates birthday and we have been celebrating all weekend! Friday we went out for delicious dinner and drinks at Moxies and yesterday we had a big celebration at our house! Almost all of our good friends made it and we drank and danced the night away at a club downtown.
Every year for my friends birthdays I bake them a cake and we always try to be creative in some sort of way with it. For my other roommates birthday we made a cake with a barbie throwing up sprinkles... it was perfect! This year, for my roommates birthday we decided to ice her!
There are only a few pictures from the beginning of the night, which is a bummer, but at least we got a few of the gorgeous birthday girl!
My roommate Arielle's birthday cake and cupcakes
These drinks were so delicious at Moxies
For everyones birthday we go all out in decorations! Balloons, streamers, cake, birthday buttons, signs etc.
The next few pictures are a sequence of events. From the beginning (bringing out the cake) to the end where Minjee is finishing her ice.

Work work work

Waking up bright and early for work is always such a struggle. Especially when I'm so snuggly and warm in my bed and have to walk to work in the freezing!
I got paid today at work an received my pay in the new $20 bills... Talk about monopoly! There is no way this is what our world is turning to! Plastic money ? I thought that's what credit cards and debit cards are for !
Of course after work I have to go right to the books! My last midterm is tomorrow and then ill be hit hard with finals next week! Currently in the library with my roomie attempting to study.! (Of course I'm blogging)
Here's a pic of my roomies giagantic headphones she had to rent since she forgot hers! Too funny

Hump Day!

I seriously have an online shopping addiction. My visa bill is huge right now because I can not stop! but below are a few of the most recently purchased! If anyone has any recommendations of sweet online shopping sites let me know! I love finding new ones (especially those that don't charge customs!)
Most delicious snack to ever be made! I am obsessed with yogurt, granola and fruit!

New maroon knit sweater from Nasty Gal and Tiffany chain. This has to be one of the comfiest but still stylish sweaters I own! Never taking it off! Sweater $70

My roommate just told me about a site called Tobi and of course I was the first in the house to purchase from it! No customs = awesome and I got some pretty cute stuff too!
Belt from tobi $13
 Skull blouse from Tobi $40
Chiffon Maroon(even though it looks red in this pic-lighting in my room sucks) Maxi Dress from Tobi $56
It looked super cute on the site, but not so hot on me! Not really loving the whole slit on the side but I may see if I can somehow cover up the slit!

Last but not least... the boy side of my life:) hehe I am obsessed with the chive! I have the app on my phone and go on it every morning! If you haven't heard of it, go to thechive.com. It's basically a site filled with awesome pictures and videos! Such an entertaining site. They also have a more girly version which isn't as funny but its called theberry, you can get to it from thechive.
Anyways... super pumped that it finally came in the mail:( If only the KCCO ones didn't sell out so fast, that one would be in my bag right away!
